Split Infinitive

by Brad Whiteley Quartet

/

about

This was the first recording of my original composition, "Split Infinitive". It took place at an unreleased 2005 quartet session led by Brad Whiteley at Airtime Studios in Bloomington, IN.

I loved entering the world of the trio and being a part of their interplay and existing rapport, enhanced by Brad's miniature epic songs.

"Split Infinitive" was inspired by Ravi Coltrane's odd meter layered compositions circa "Mad 6" (2004), as well as Steve Coleman's seminal "Drop Kick", although the solos are essentially free.
